"Only the rarest kind of best in anything can be good enough for the young."
English poet Walter de la Mare
The Village Elementary School Library web pages are for kindergarten through fifth grade students, the adults in their lives, and their teachers and staff members. The content of their pages supports the curriculum of the school. Computer literacy is one goal, while teaching information gathering and sharing skills in a fun and interesting way.
The pages are constantly changing as the school community provides new material to add and content areas to explore. Enjoy!
The site is designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind. Elementary school children are learning to read both text and icons and images. Both are used extensively on the internet. In our technology classes students learn about visual literacy or the "ability to interpret, negotiate, and make meaning from information presented in the form of an image." While images are used, every effort has been made to implement the accessibility features of CSS.
